Leadership Team

Our team will be in touch with next steps in April.

What Is Leadership Team?

The Leadership Team dreams, plans, and executes ministry to, for, and with students at Georgia Southern University. Leadership is an extension of the staff team tasked with reaching students on campus. We believe getting and investing in the right leaders is more important than getting the most people on the leadership team, therefore we will be selective in who is given the opportunity to join the team.

How it Works

Leadership team is composed of our leaders at Wesley. Leaders are the eyes and ears of Wesley and help us discern:

  • Student needs
  • Who needs encouragement
  • Who needs prayer/support
  • The spiritual climate at Wesley
  • How we can better reach students as a campus ministry

Ministry Teams

Here is a description of the different areas of ministry you can help learn and lead in at Wesley.  You will be asked in the form below to select the teams you are interested in joining.

Prayer Team – We believe God moves through prayer and is an essential part of intimacy with God.  Prayer leaders assist in creating a prayer culture at Wesley.  They help lead our at 7pm prayer before weekly worship service and are available to pray with students during worship.  Prayer Team also will provide other prayer opportunities for students throughout the semester.

The Freshley Team seeks to help incoming freshmen transition well to college. The Freshley Team helps organize and run “Freshley” during the fall semester and other ongoing freshmen activities throughout the year.

Events & Fellowship Team will work to plan out fun events that bring people together to have a good time as well as bridge events with the community.

Production Team – Production leaders help create an atmosphere that is inviting for worship at Wesley.  These detail-oriented leaders help with running pro-presenter, lighting, sound, and overall stage and room design.

Worship Team – Worship leaders are devoted to leading the student body of Wesley in worship each week. Along with leading worship for the Wednesday night Prayer/Wesley service, weekly expectations also include a regular rehearsal, a willingness to run sound/slides is a vital component of a worship team member.  All applicants must try-out for the Worship Team.
