EMPOWERING STUDENTS TO MAKE AN IMPACT!
We are entering our 70th year of ministry and we continue to evangelize, equip, & empower college students to make an impact! We are blessed to do ministry on the campus of Georgia Southern University and the opportunity to watch college students grow into mentally, emotionally, and spiritually healthy disciples of Jesus! Thank you for your support! Because of you, we have been blessed to minister to college students in a profound way! Below are some highlights of our year:
- Passion Worship Conference – January 6 – 8 (3-day worship experience for 18–25-year-olds)
- Sunbelt Wesley Winter Retreat – January 15 – 17 (South Alabama, Southern Miss, & App State Wesley Foundations)
- Flock Together – Hosted over 30 youth (Pittman Park, Statesboro FUMC, & Wesley Monumental UMC)
- Spring Break Missions Trip – March 14 – 21 (Dominican Republic)
- Serving South and North Georgia Annual Conference Sessions – June 1-3 & 12 -14 (Social Media and Teaching)
- Gather Retreat – August 1 – 3 (Gathering Students for Leadership and Community before the semester)
- Fall Retreat – October 10 – 12 (Gathering of Wesley Foundations & UM Colleges from Georgia)
We have seen students connect, learn, worship, and serve together at retreats with fellow Wesley foundations. They appreciate each campus’s uniqueness, fostering a better understanding that enhances their service in their own contexts. Additionally, we had the opportunity of SEVEN interns serving this past fall! We want to empower the next generation of leaders of the church and at GS Wesley, we equip students for service.
Hear now a story from one of our interns:
A Summer at Wesley: A Journey of Choice, Service, and Growth
“This past summer, I faced a crucial decision: take a high-paying job that might leave me feeling empty, or choose to work at Wesley, a place full of purpose and community. Choosing Wesley turned out to be one of the best decisions I have made. My summer began with some hands-on work—cleaning neglected spaces at Wesley and discovering hidden treasures like alumni photos, old prayer books, and plenty of decorations, all alongside a supportive team. Albert encouraged creativity, letting us reimagine and decorate with what we found, which made the work feel meaningful and fun. Wesley offered experiences that shaped my faith and leadership. I also attended the South Georgia Annual Conference of the UMC, where I learned about the values and future of the church. We also, engaged in Tuesday Lunch & Learns which gave me the opportunity to connect with friends, share meals, and dive deep into the book of Colossians. Hearing everyone’s perspectives helped me see Paul’s teachings in new ways and apply them to my life. Most importantly, Wesley gave me space to reflect on God’s word, rest, and prepare for the next chapter after college. Those quiet moments of reading and prayer healed and strengthened me, renewing my desire to live like Jesus. Looking back, my summer at Wesley was filled with growth, friendship, and spiritual renewal. I am deeply grateful for the chance to serve, learn, and be a part of a community that truly cares.” – Julia Jerald, Senior Outreach Intern
GS Wesley seeks to equip students as faithful disciples of Jesus, encouraging both intellectual understanding and heartfelt expression of His love. We invite you to partner with us through a year-end donation or by becoming a regular donor in 2026, helping us share the love of Christ and equip college students to lean into community.
